The difference between an acknowledgement and an oath/affirmation is that an acknowledgement notarization simply confirms the identity of the signer and the date it was signed, whereas an oath/affirmation also requires that the signer swear the contents of the document are correct.
An oath/affirmation will have key phrases like "sworn before me" or "affirmed to before me" in the document to confirm an oath must be taken before signing.

A notary (opffiically called a Notary Public) is a citizen appointed by the State government to administer oaths and witness the signing of important documents.
A Notary Signing Agent is a Notary Public that has undergone training to understand complex loan packages. Notary Signing Agents often represent Title Companies, Escrow Companies, Banks and other Lenders at the signing table.
Notarizations help to prevent fraud. As an impartial witness, a notary ensure that the signers are who they say they are, and that they are signing knowingly and willingly.
Government issued ID that includes a photograph, physical description, and signature.
Examples include: Driver's License, Military ID, Passport
Notaries are not responsible for the accuracy or legality of the documents they notarize. A notarization simply confirms the identity of the signer, it is up to the signer and other parties to ensure the contents of the documents.
No. Notarizes are not allowed to prepare legal documents or act as a legal advisor (unless they are also an attorney).
A witness is a neutral 3rd party who watches the signing. They confirm the identitiy of the signers, then they sign the document as well. A notary cannot be a witness and notarize the same document.
